Bilingual Administrative Assistant - Translation

Job Description
This role is a junior position for translation, proofreading, and formatting in WSP Earth & Environment - Mining. In this role, the incumbent works under the supervision of the Senior Technical Writer and Editor, Team Lead and mentorship of Technical Editors to provide formatting, proofreading, and translation support to technical teams across Canada.
Areas of Responsibility
Translate, format, and proofread technical documents in French and English:
Create and compile PDF documents:
Communicate with project managers, authors, and reviewers to obtain approval for documents:
Qualifications
Required: university degree
Required: proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Required: proficient in French and English (for translation and communication purposes)

Areas of Responsibility
Translate, format, and proofread technical documents in French and English:
- Convert technical documents from one language to another while confirming technical accuracy and maintaining the original meaning.
- Apply consistent styles and layouts to documents using MS Office applications and WSP templates so that they are professional and easy to read.
- Review documents for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and technical accuracy, ensuring they meet the company's quality standards.
Create and compile PDF documents:
- Convert various file formats (e.g., Word, Excel) into PDF format for easy sharing and printing.
- Combine multiple PDF files into a single document, confirming proper order and consistency in formatting.
- Use PDF editor tools to make minor edits, add comments, and apply security settings to protect sensitive information.
Communicate with project managers, authors, and reviewers to obtain approval for documents:
- Regularly interact with project managers to understand project requirements, timelines, and document specifications.
- Follow up with project teams to obtain necessary approvals so that documents are finalized and distributed on time.
