At PwC, our people in deals focus on providing strategic advice and support to clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring. They help clients navigate complex transactions and maximise value in their business deals.In deal recovery management at PwC, you will focus on helping clients navigate financial distress and recover from challenging business situations. You will be responsible for providing strategic advice and solutions to optimise recovery outcomes.
Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Corporate Advisory and Restructuring Intern , you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Identifying reasons for a business' underperformance and assessing its ongoing viability
• Analyzing financial results and assessing enterprises' financial structure s
• Developing recovery strategies and detailed financial models supporting revised business plan s or restructuring plans for an enterprise
• A ssisting with the restructuring of the enterprises' capital structure through informal or formal court supervised restructuring processes
• Raising capital and executing distressed M&A strategies
• Identifying/developing and executing on rapid operational turnaround strategies
• Acting for secured lenders to recover their loans
• Work ing across multiple service offerings within PwC's Deals Practice as client demands change , which could include assisting Corporate Finance or Due Diligence teams with the purchase and sale of businesses
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve:
• The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada
• Analyzing financial statements/ financial reports
• Developing an understanding of a business' operations, the risks it faces and its critical success factors
• Building a nd reviewing financial models
• Preparing clear, concise and professional communications such as reports or presentations
• Analyzing business issues and supporting the CAR team in making judgment s and recommendations to clients
• Working in a team environment
• This role doesn't support completion of the Canadian CPA designation
