A career within the Capital Projects and Infrastructure - Transactions team will allow you to deliver innovative transaction solutions to our clients and provide advice and support, from start to finish. In short, we help some of the world's largest companies and governments across diverse industries create value. We analyze data to help our clients progress and maximize their value. Our Infrastructure and Project Finance team helps public and private sector clients finance, deliver and manage their projects profitably and efficiently. As a team member, you will assist our clients with procurement strategies, project structuring, financing and negotiations.
Meaningful work you'll be part of
As a Capital Projects & Infrastructure Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Draft reports and information documents of a financial nature, business cases and analyses related to various procurement methods
• Take part in the development and review of complex financial models
• Develop a holistic understanding of the process of strategic planning, procurement and financial structuring of capital and infrastructure projects
• Develop an in-depth understanding of various sectors such as transportation, health and energy
• Support in building and reviewing governance structures and conducting PMO activities
• Liaise between PwC and client's teams
• Understand and assess client needs to provide them with information essential to making informed decisions
• Advise clients on best practices in the management of capital and infrastructure projects, and support them in the implementation of these recommendations
• Contribute to the development of the CP&I practice and the PwC brand
Experiences and skills you'll use to solve
• The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada
• A professional designation in finance (CFA, CBV) or in project management (PMP) will be considered an asset
• Relevant professional experience in major capital projects and infrastructure
• Strong communication , presentation and writing skills, including the ability to understand and effectively summarize complex documents
• Proven technical and analytical capabilities including proven financial analysis and financial modelling skills (applied to infrastructure projects)
• Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
• Confidence, desire and ability to learn all aspects of infrastructure sectors in a short timeframe
• A taste for teamwork, on complex and often demanding projects
• A university degree in a relevant discipline (business, accounting, finance, procurement, law, engineering, political science, etc.);
• This role doesn't support completion of the Canadian CPA designation ;
